PETER RUNDQUIST
composer / sound designer / guitarist / engineer / producer
Peter Rundquist left a stint on Wall Street many years ago to pursue a career in music. He has lent his originality and vision to a number of film and television projects including CLIO award-winning advertising and original music for the Disney Channel, ESPN, the BBC and Nickelodeon. Recently he has composed scores for The Great War, which premiered on the PBS series American Experience, and the award-winning documentary Buck, about the true Horse Whisperer. He recently scored the PBS’ Frontline series “Confronting Isis” which was awarded a Peabody and an Emmy
As co-founder of the instrumental group Zoar, he co-wrote and produced several albums for the Philip Glass label Point Records.
While engineering and producing Straight From The Delta, a CD of delta blues field recordings performed by legendary Mississippi artists, he became enamored with the exploration and performance of folk and roots music. Past projects have included sessions with notable blues and Folk artists ranging from Corey Harris to Taj Mahal, Dr. John and B.B. King.
As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, he is constantly seeking new and unique stringed instruments for use in his compositions. In his spare time he hones his claw-hammer banjo technique.
He was recently awarded an artist's residency at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming.
